Blessing (name changed, he wants to
stay anonymous) was born as a 4th child in a family in
1979, where were already 2 boys and one girl. He still got one
brother later on. They lived in Glenora, which is a poor area.
Unfortunately when Blessing was five
years old his father passed away. Mother was left with 5 children and
the struggle how to survive. She was a vendor, selling tomatoes,
until she got a job from the city counsil. They survived, Blessing
was able to go to school and he did well there. Their mom always told
them, that doing well school will help them to survive better.
And Blessing did. He was always in top
3 of the students in the class. He continued also for A-levels
(Advanced) and did well in that too. He studied for a degree in Accounting and Law with the University of London through distance learning from Harare.
His first job was an accountant but
quite soon he was promoted to a company secretary as he had also
studied law. He is not working in that company anymore.
Now he has his own company with his
brother. They have an Advertising Agency. His brother did
communications in the university, so they are a good team. They do
well. Blessing also has some kombi bus business, which is very good
here in Harare.
Blessing never married, instead he
travelled lot, lived in many places too, but wants to live in
Zimbabwe. He said his heart is here and here he wants to live. Now he
lives in a 3 bedroom flat as a bachelor, drives a very nice car and
is doing well in life. He's been staying healthy as well as his
family, but if something comes, he is secured, he can afford health
care.
All is well with him at the moment and
let's hope all will stay well too. Very good story of how education
helps you to prosper.
